Radio/Modem: KA6

All these are from XDA-Developers forum
I am just listing the steps I took to root my phone and post-rooting
You NEED to put your phone on USB Debugging mode
1. on your PC: Download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Web Installer).
2. on your PC: Download and install Samsung USB drivers:
64bit:
32bit:
For Linux and Mac the Android SDK drivers should work fine.
3. I followed the instructions in this URL (using SuperOneClick v1.5):
root-unroot-samsung-galaxy-3-running-android-2-2-froyo (steps 1 to 5 in "To root your phone:" section)
4. Installed EasyInstaller from Market. Used this app to install BusyBox. You can uninstall EasyInstaller at the end of this excercise.
=== After rooting using SuperOneClick (Froyo.KA6 Vibrant), I installed Titanium Backup. I uninstalled apps like Slacker radio, Kindle, TeleNav etc using Titanium Backup app. If any folders or updates(like Amazon Kindle under MyApps in Market) left, I delete/uninstall them too(but no hurry in reality as the app is already removed). ===
From here read and re-read thoroughly
Once rooted, need to install lagfix. OneClickLagFix
5. I followed the instructions from step 4 to step 9 in
Full Steps to Acheive Root + ClockwordMod Recovery with new KA6 2.2
5a. recovery 3e modified to work like recovery 2e (download 3e_recovery_installer.zip only). This link is only to get the .zip file.
Note: CWR's update.zip will in /. Once I booted into CWR few times and done with my work, I moved update.zip into ClockWorkMod folder.
6. Now installed the lagfix. [KERNEL] stock+Voodoo stable 5.x for Vibrant.
Once Voodoo is installed, when you reboot into recovery the phone boots into CWR(red) automatically. Doesn't need CWR's update.zip in root folder(/).
Tip: Install Voodoo Toggle Reboot Button app from Market. Even easy to enable/disable voodoo lagfix. Made life easier.
Tip: Install Voodoo Control from Market. The status should read: "Ext4 lagfix active". In the Lagfix preferences, I checked the following: "Ext4 conversion" & "Ext4 /system".
In-progress: I am still reading and re-reading to replace the stock kernel. Some phones are not responding well to non-stock kernels. be-aware. If you are planning to move from stock kernel, plan to take a kernel backup (see link below "Info on Backups).
Now the Vibrant.Froyo.KA6 is rooted with lagfix. Enjoy your freedom.
